The Hammer Union Pressure Transmitter, Model 511, is specifically engineered for use with 1502 Wing Union Fittings. It serves the critical purpose of measuring pump discharge pressure in diverse oil and gas operations, including drilling, fracturing, acidizing, cementing, and nitrogen injection.

This transmitter boasts a patented design that enables it to withstand extreme vibration and abrasive impact, ensuring reliable performance in harsh working conditions. Its patented angled connector base, drain holes, and sealing method render it impervious to fluid ingress, enhancing durability. The connector housing is designed for easy access, with a 77% greater area compared to conventional designs.

It features an expanded compensated temperature range, an improved sealing method for connector pins, and capabilities for external adjustment, identification, and peak pressure capture. Additionally, it is RoHS compliant.

In terms of performance, the full scale pressure ranges available are 0-5K, 0-6K, 0-10K, 0-15K, and 0-20K PSIS (equivalent to 0-350, 410, 700, 1000, 1400 Bar). The combined accuracy (encompassing non-linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability) is ≤ ± 0.25% FSO. At 70°F, the full scale output is 16.00 MA ±1% FSO, and the zero balance is 4 MA ±1% FSO. The compensated temperature range is +40°F to 140°F (4°C to 60°C), while the operating temperature range spans from -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C), and the storage temperature range is -67°F to 302°F (-55°C to 150°C). Long-term stability is ≤±0.25% FSO per 6 months. The thermal effect on zero and span is typically ≤±1% FSO per 100°F.

Electrical specifications include an output signal of 4-20 MA at 70°F, a supply voltage of 9-28 VDC, and a power supply regulation of <± 0.01% FSO per volt. The load impedance is 900 Ohms at 28 VDC, decreasing linearly to 0 Ohms at 9 VDC. The circuit is reverse polarity protected, and it has specific RFI/EMI immunity levels as per relevant standards. It can withstand 1000 volt spikes per EN 61000-4-5, has an insulation resistance of <5 nS, and a response time of <1 Millisecond to reach 90% of FSO. A range calibration signal of 100% FSO ±10% is achieved by exciting pins E&F, with a calibration power supply voltage of 8.5-28 VDC and calibration signal accuracy within ±0.2% FSO of the actual Cal signal output. The bridge resistance is nominally 10K Ohms, and the standard electrical connection mates with a 6-pin, hermetic, box mount, shell size 10, MIL-C-26482 Bendix type connector.

Mechanically, the standard pressure port is a Male Hammer Union 2 inch #1502. The pressure cavity volume is 0.45 cubic inches for the standard version and 0.22 cubic inches for option “TP”. The zero effect from installation is <±0.3% FSO with 200 ft-lbs torque on union #1502. It has a shock sensitivity where a 1000 G, 0.5 Ms half sine wave pulse shall not cause a change in calibration. The proof pressure is 1.67X range or 22,500 PSI Max, and the burst pressure is 3 times the full scale pressure range, limited by union #1502 to 22.5K PSI.

Materials of construction include NACE compliant Inconel 718 as standard wetted material (meeting MR0175/ISO 15156-3:2009(E)), a 304 Stainless Steel enclosure, laser-marked identification on the body of the unit, and an enclosure rating of IP68*, NEMA 6P*. The nominal weight is 5.6 lbs.

Options are available such as extended compensated temperature ranges (both cold and hot), improved temperature compensation, special ranges, improved accuracy, special calibration runs, narrow adapters for banding, carrying handles, customer-specific identification, protective ring cages, protective criss-cross cages, and special connectors.

Approvals include Russian Metrology Certificates, Canada Intrinsic Safety and Non-Incendive Labels, Europe Intrinsic Safety and Non-Incendive Labels, IECEX International Intrinsic Safety Labels, EAC EX, and US Intrinsic Safety and Non-Incendive Labels. Certifications vary by region, with details on intrinsic safety and non-incendive classifications for the US, Canada, Europe, and Russia, along with EMC compliance for Europe.

For external calibration, trim zero and full scale with a pressure source using DevCoM 2000-LT desktop software. It can record 4 pressure spikes up to 140% of the rated pressure and cumulative time, with a digital output resolution of +/- 0.06% and a factory reset option. Non-interactive zero and span adjustment is also possible. External calibration accessories include the DevCoM 2000-LT Desktop Software (with specified system requirements), HART Modems (with various PC connections and cable lengths/connections available), a 24vDC power source, a Power Xpress Kit, and a 250 Ohm resistor.
